chilean born and berlin based dinky has forged a solid and illustrious career over the past decade. ‘casa’ announces her new album set for release on damian lazarus’s crosstown rebels this autumn, with remixes from axel boman and satori. a trained classical guitarist, singer and keyboard player that has held a dj residency at berlin’s infamous panorama bar since 2004, dinky’s sixth album, also titled ‘casa’ will be the first since the birth of her two children.’ dinky’s delicate vocal on ‘casa’ is both up-tempo and spacious, with infusions of acid, leftfield and electronica in its veins. axel boman delivers a stunning, emotive and epic nine and a half minute dub version, overlaid with spoken word samples referring to lost experiences. the swedish born producer is much-lauded for his releases on dj koze’s pampa, permanent vacation and his own imprint, studio barnhus, formed with kornel kovacs and petter of border community. while the hedonistic take from satori takes ‘casa’ up beyond the horizon. a future crosstown rebels artist, satori has released on 8bit, under your skin and bla bla records. ‘casa’ sees a return to form for dinky and a welcome return to the crosstown imprint, after previously releasing a single and a mix album for the pioneering label.

sing with me: much in the same vein of the mannheim house sound made popular by artists like johnny d, nick curly, christian burkhardt etc. bretts gives us a deep but driving track centered around an african boy singing. brett chops the sample up to create a choir of ethereal voices to support the boys singing. as the track progresses it takes a left turn into weirdville through some dramatic synth tweaks & sweeps. this track is perfect for anyone who likes to dance standing up, with their head down and first firmly in the air. speaking japanese: many people will tell you learning to speak japanese is one of the most difficult languages to learn, and theyre right. lucky for you, brett has done all the work by translating his message into sound. the core inspiration for this track is based on a sample from a song by get physical owner and artist mandy. they were kind enough to let brett use the sample and run wild with it. the result is 8 minutes and 12 seconds of over driven 909s, rolling bass lines and a pad so thick you need a fork to eat it. all of this keeps the calm while frantic chatter and out of this world fxs take you to a japanese after party somewhere in shibuya.

birdsmakingmachine are back on track and continuing their series in style with bmm 007. kicking off things on a1, at 124 bpm, “the draft” is a joyful number that bursts with relentless energy while managing to fuse sharp metallic drum patterns with juggling ambient hooks. the more dancefloor-oriented track is nevertheless found on a2. as the title suggests, “area 52” is quite literally a journey through the unknown and mysterious, a metaphor for the deep minimal house amazon, a track that stands out with an extra subby bassline, swinging hihats and those ever-so-warm sequenced analog pads in the background. flip the record over and you find yourself with two slightly more industrial affairs, “the voice of kudha” on b1 offering a breakier alternative than it’s predecessors and “zagonity”, on b2, galloping its way to close off the record with shuffling vocal hits and an amalgamation of bouncing hats and snares.

that night, we answered a regular call, something about crazy loud noises coming out from a basement. while driving to the area all i could think when i first heard the bass stomping was: “man, whatever, this doesn t even sound like music to me.” and we were at least a 100 meter away from the source of the sound. when we got there, after knocking several times on the door, we decided we had more than enough probable causes to bust in. after a warning, we kicked the door open. what we saw inside was a five feet tall woman jumping around in that cacophony. we screamed and she ignored us, my colleague then panicked and shot her with his taser several times – she then simply pulled the probes out of her body shouting moments moments – and continued to jump around..

the story begins at the heideglühen club in berlin where the true romance crew saw ojpb play. in the midst of his set he dropped a mysterious track that completely lit the crowd up, it was e-lane 2 troy. in this offering, true romance introduces montreal based ojpb (also known as bowly, dÐd, mtsp). through this alias, french-born olivier borzeix delivers raw and adventurous rhythms sourcing his inspirations in rare funk disco nuggets and the golden age of house music, blending it into what he likes to call : hypnotic soul. e-lane 2 troy is an uplifting cosmic mind bender. with its brilliant disco loops and infectious trance inducing melody, this is one that will fill and fire up dancefloors all over.

a side track ‘’1840&#8242,’ (feat. contrapunct) is the result of taking a violin built by jean-baptiste vuillaume in the year 1840, played by our in-house virtuoso now known as contrapunct and making a sample kit / sound kit with it yes, this means all the sounds you hear on this song are sourced from an old and beautiful violin. using original recordings combined with different manipulation techniques, the trio deliver to the plate over 12 minutes of intensity. one can explain it like this perhaps……….. you are high in the blue sky walking a high wire over an ocean of beautiful coral reef, still maintaining balance, but looking down at the view beneath and thinking- “if i got to go- there cannot be much better ways!

fifty first recordings was created in 1994 out of a small but very productive studio in london called state 51 using the down time and the very talented engineers who had been brought together for state 51 s existing clients. state 51 was the go to studio for the likes of x-press 2, sharp, amalgamation of soundz. the engineers we worked with included mark woolford, james brown, james reynolds & mark yardley. fifty first recordings soon found a name for itself and was very quickly at the forefront of the new generation of uk garage music. we produced and released music in the 90s, for over 7 years, with the likes of tuff jam etc. and later went to develop other imprints such as konnect / test press / unda vybe / spread love / tick etc., some in partnership with producers and managed artists.

jumpmono records is back with the next instalment of vinyl/digital mayhem! this time we welcome the super talented italian techno brothers, mr. bizz, with their superb single crescendo. mr. bizz have been making some serious noise across the techno scene over the past few years with their releases landing on labels including, cocoon, sci+tec, octopus, suara and many more... so it was inevitable that we would invite them to release on jumpmono. first up on remix duty is techno legend, koen groeneveld, who provides a powerful peak time monster. the second remix comes from none other than alex di stefano, with his amazing, harder techno sound. the third remix is a huge techno slammer and comes from holland s incredibly talented, steve mulder.

saft welcomes nortasun to it s expanding roster of artists. with not too much info being available about the artist, the music should do the talking. nortasun comes up with a sample drenched ep that consists out of swell basslines, mind expanding chords and outlandish percussion works. untitled 1 opens up with a carefully placed disco sample that hovers over the rhythms very nicely. the percussion section and the ascending chords serve the overal ambiance while nortasun plays with the extended loop pattern that maintains of interest. untitled 2 serves as a very deep but functional voyage into tribal territory. a vary of percussion sets in and smartly exchanges tones with fx cuts. on the b side fudge fingas debuts on saft with an atmospheric beast of a remix for untitled 1 that constantly grows and cleverly uses vocal cuts that change up the original atmosphere and makes the overall a very broad work of house music. the stevie wonder like clava hit + piano solo s that come in when the remix progresses are all in courtesy of the edinburghian producer himself.

laate is the new project of clayton guifford (unrelated / fragil). for this second release, we are very glad to welcome - the black tone - (rawthencity / appian).- circadian attraction e<p - is just as ethereal as abyssal tone records, where nagging mpc s swing and reverberation s effects are placing great emphasis on minimalist compositions, strictly dedicated to the dancefloor.on a side: - circadian attraction ep - is backed by a dynamic rhythm with analog tones. a meticulous architecture temple where time stop. a techno recital of limpid beauty gliding on a groovy bassline that will make every soundsystem whirr.on b1: - aquatic redox - is a plunging us into deep submarine daydreams. a digital bath with salty taste and hypnotic dampness. everything is a quiet, question & answers between the different elements are bouncing over and over in the atmosphere, constantly captivating the attention. a perfect balance between strength and subtlety. finally on b2, - aquatic redox - s remix is released by the famous producer: janeret (rutilance /aku). after an -haute-couture- intro, slightly breaked, we find in this remix the galactic synths typical of the talented young parisian’s repertoire. clear, precise and extremely mastered, this rework put everyone in agreement on the dancefloor.

magic source is a project led by producer björn wagner (the mighty mocambos, bacao rhythm & steel band, mocambo records), who is renowned for creating an authentic and hard-hitting raw funk sound. following a few acclaimed single releases on favorite recordings over the past few years, the french label deeply wanted to collaborate further with the german combo, for a special and exclusive project bringing their music on new paths. this new project is a step towards a new style: analog-electronica, or so called cosmic-disco sound.

following on from last years exceptional ‘obsession ep’ from art crime is a budding young talent by the name of will lister. originally from lyme regis, will moved up to london to attend goldsmiths university and in his spare time he helps us out behind the counter here at the shop. when he’s not here at the shop you can also hear him playing records on his balamii radio show or his monthly club night, ‘the aten’. ‘the phantom ep’ is his production debut and we’re extremely happy to be putting it out on our main imprint. the title track opens up the ep with heavily reverbed pads, echoed claps, crunchy percussion and repetitive synth stabs that all work together to create spaced-out atmosphere that’s full of twist and turns. flipping over to the b-side, ‘after the light’ picks up the pace with a driving high-hat rhythm and full-bodied kicks that underpin warm piano keys and smooth synth lines. ‘agency’ closes proceedings by turning up the intensity to full with a masterclass in building tension.

2016 sees label boss aubrey release his first full ep on solid groove since 2003. a1-time level bypass is a peak time 12 min long bass groove with alien noises throughout. b1 rangoose, is a unreleased track originally made by aubrey in 1998, heavy in nature for the purists. b2-mf-104 is a 120bpm deep house track more suited for a 7am play, with lush echos from the rare moogerfooger mf-104 delay limited to just over 500 units made.

out electronic recordings introduces the second installment of different seasons various artists series after kicking off the first one with tracks from fabrizio lapiana, regen, civilian and limo back in january 2015. out-er sets ‘different seasons vol.2’ as the twenty-first vinyl release on its way – as the first volume, the record embraces melodic techno tracks and introduces new and old faces to the roster. on a side attic music boss fabrizio lapiana appears on out-er again offering ‘square’, then the experienced dj luciano esse offers ‘the call’ following to his very first ‘the green ep’ released on the italian label back in 2012. flipping the record over on b side and lachriz’ comeback on out-er sees the debut of his moniker ‘farron’ with the ethereal cut ‘travelling through your mind’ – while the newest artist on board hydergine provides a dub techno journey opting for a swinging, fresh piece typical of his production imprint.
